2012  Annual Report

District Meetings

The Armstrong Conservation District meetings are held the third Wednesday of each month at the

Manor Township Municipal Building

306 Byron Street, McGrann, PA.

April, May, June, and July meetings will begin at 7 pm. All meetings are open to the public.

2013 Annual Fruit Tree and Seedling Sale

As a service to area landowners, the Armstrong Conservation District conducts its annual fruit tree and seedling sale.  Proceeds from the annual tree sale are used to underwrite expenses related to Arbor Day, Soil Stewardship, the Envirothon and other environmental activities sponsored by the District. 

Thanks to everyone that placed an order this year 2013. If you placed an order in 2013, you will automatically be placed on the mailing list for 2014 or check out the web site in 2014.

2013 Armstrong County Envirothon

The 8th Armstrong County Envirothon will be held on Wednesday, May 1st at the Environmental Learning Center, Crooked Creek. Competitors must be enrolled in grades 9 thru 12 or equivalent home education program ranking.  Teams comprising of five students compete in five subject areas using their knowledge in five topic areas - aquatic ecology, forestry, soils and land use, wildlife and a current issue.  A new current environmental issue is chosen each year as the "HOT Topic" for the focus of this station.  Winners of the local competition will participate in the 2013 PA State Envirothon May 21 and 22, 2013 at Juniata College, Huntingdon County.

2013 Soil and Stewardship Week

April 28 - May 5, 2013

The National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) has proclaimed April 28 - May 5, 2013 as Stewardship Week with the theme,

"Where Does Your Water Shed?"
